Applying Geographic Information Systems, Remote Sensing, Earth Observation, and Spatial Data Science to develop innovative solutions for environmental sustainability, geospatial intelligence, and evidence-based decision-making.
Hi, I'm Oluwapelumi Elijah, a Geospatial Scientist with research interests in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Remote Sensing, Earth Observation, Geospatial Intelligence, and Spatial Data Science. I recently graduated with a First-Class Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in Remote Sensing and Geoscience Information System from the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA), Nigeria.
My work focuses on applying geospatial technologies to understand environmental and societal challenges through spatial analysis, satellite remote sensing, and data-driven decision-making. I am particularly interested in integrating GIS, Earth observation data, cloud-based geospatial platforms, and advanced analytical techniques to support sustainable development, environmental monitoring, and geospatial intelligence.
During my undergraduate studies, I developed broad research experience applying GIS, Remote Sensing, Earth Observation, and spatial analysis to diverse real-world problems. My work covered geospatial intelligence and border porosity analysis, environmental monitoring through Land Surface Temperature and Land Use/Land Cover assessment, coastal dynamics and bathymetric mapping, mineral exploration using remote sensing, and spectral analysis of vegetation and soil using indices such as NDVI, NDWI, and EVI. These experiences developed my ability to work across environmental, geological, security, and spatial data applications, while strengthening my skills in geospatial data processing, spatial modelling, image analysis, and data-driven problem-solving.
